In our laboratory, we are conducting whole array of tests and examinations, connected to solving problems that are present particularly in industrial production. Besides dealing with environmental issues, problems being solved are also connected to acquiring european legislation.
In cooperation with partner laboratory we are conducting verification of gluten content, particularly in food declare as gluten free, by means of enzyme-imunological method ELISA
For this purpose, whole array of methods are used to determine the content of pesticides, including glyphosate (eg. Roundup, etc.). This analysis is used particularly for confirmation of casual or intentional contamination of land parcels and plants.
Based on conducted analyses, our laboratory devises procedures for ecological liquidation, eventually rafination of used liquids, including desinfecting agents.
Our laboratory conducts termical tests of products in order to determine the kind and amount of exhalates, escaping from test materials during normal and elevated temperature. In praxis, the materials are heated by defined conditions and temperatures of 20-1000°C in enclosed laboratory testing box, eventually laboratory oven. The amount and type of emitted substances is determined by suitable analytical methods.
Test examples:
a) Formaldehyde content in products. This test is mainly performed for verification of quality of building materials, particularly chipboards. Single or long-term tests are performed in order to determine, how is the cancerogenic formaldehyde emitted in time from a surface of studied material (furniture walls from chipboard, materials with fenolformaldehyde resin, etc.)
b) Plastic material tests in automotive industry. Testing of plastic materials, used mainly in interior of cars. For this purpose are used proceedings devised by renowned car producers in terms of internal quality control assurance (eg. Methodologies SES N 2404 a N 2403 SUZUKI , MS 300-34 a MS 300-55 Hyundai-Kia Motor). These tests study releasing of volatile compounds and smell during defined conditions.
c) Tests of sorbtion abilities. Our laboratory conducts tests of sorption abilities of suitable materials and verification of their termic regeneration (eg, activated carbon filters for catchment of volatile organic compounds)
d) Burning tests. Our laboratory conducts high-temperature tests in order to determine the amount and quality of exhalates, released by tested materials during heating. Thermic treatment process kinetics is mapped. This method is used for testing of glass fibers during apretation burning, materials containing organic resins, technical materials and raw materials used during production, etc. Not only emissions of volatile organic compounds are being tested, but also isokyanates, heavy metals, etc.
Our laboratory conducts burning tests of waste materials in order to determine the amount and composition of toxic substances released in atmosphere during pyrolysis (eg. PAH, heavy metals, organic chlorine). Samples from oil contaminated lakes near Ostrava (“Ostrava lagunes“) are an example.
In cosmetics we monitor following parameters:
In our laboratory, we perform analysis of technical liquids (non-freezing mixtures, cooling liquids, wash liquids, anti-microbial liquids, etc.) in order to confirm composition and purity of liquid mixtures with regard to process quality assurence, including assurance of timely regeneration of solutions.
Our laboratory conducts test of permeability of filtration fabrics and medicinal materials (protective masks, resuscitation filters) during defined conditions. Part of the test can be a confirmation of functional features of filter materials, according to the intended way of use.
